Our red wines

Wine list – Red

Below you will find our selection of red wines

Domaine Montplo 2016

From the Herault area of the Languedoc, this is a great modern-style red blend; full of juicy red and black fruit flavours, alongside a spot of spice and warmth. The addition of 10% Cabernet Sauvignon to the Grenache and Carignan gives the wine just a bit more ooomph, while still retaining its lovely, easy-going, very drinkable character.

Monastier Shiraz 2015

This wine is made by leading international winemaker, Xavier Roger, who is based in Carcassonne in the South of France. This is a lightly-oaked Shiraz, made in a modern, almost ‘New World’ style. The oak gives the wine a touch of vanilla-like spiciness and a rounder, fuller feel in the mouth than you would expect to find, along with lots of dark fruit.

Esprit des Roches rouge

Like most great Languedoc wines, this is a rich full-bodied wine made with Syrah, Grenache & Carignan grapes. It is a balanced, with a long fruity finish.

Gran Fabrica Crianza

A classic Spanish medium-bodied red, oak-aged for 12 months, showing lovely notes of red fruits and spice. An open wine, with good balance between fruit and oak-ageing and a persistent finish.

Il Faggio

Made from 100% Montepulciano grapes from Abbruzzo, Italy. A deep ruby red in colour, with lifted perfumes of dark fruits, plums and cherries and a hint of mocha. This wine has soft, ripe tannins and a delicious chocolate-cherry finish. The name Il Faggio derives from the fabulous beech trees which proliferate in Abbruzzo.

Bodegas las Orcas Decenio Rioja Reserva

Simple and smooth – a soft and approachable red which works nicely with spicy food.

Chateau des Estanilles Clos du Fou

One of our favourite appelations, Faugeres makes barnstorming reds that are just a joy. Big, juicy, alcoholic and the tannins are very ripe.
