Just how big is the Portes du Soleil ski area? Imagine skiing from Walthamstow to Wimbledon
When you come and stay at our chalets in Morzine, you may well read and hear lots of people talking about the size of the Portes du Soleil ski area that can be accessed from the chalets. But it can be difficult to put it into context, especially as you are unlikely to cover the whole ski area in a week’s chalet holiday. So we compared it to London (apologies to all you non-London folk but we needed to choose a city that most people would recognise) and this is what we found…
The north circular is the road that used to do what the M25 does now, i.e circle London. You can see from the map that the Ported du Soleil is a very similar size to this area. Imagine how long it would take to drive down all these roads!
