Christmas Day: Perfect ski conditions, 20Kg of turkey, 100 plates of food and an engagement!
What a day Christmas day was this year for AliKats! After starting out the morning with freshly made French toast & fruit compote, everyone headed straight to the pistes (dressed in our 1-piece ski outfits of course) and the conditions were postcard perfect. Beautifully groomed empty pistes, lovely soft snow and incredible views as far as Mont Blanc in 1 direction and Lake Geneva in the other. We cruised round the pistes of Avoriaz and Chatel for the morning before stopping for a beer for lunch…
In the afternoon, we headed back to the chalet to continue the preparations for the AliKats 5-course Christmas dinner. With 21 guests in the chalet, this meant over 100 plates of food were served and from the reactions we got, it’s safe to say we have some very happy guests! The menu consisted of butternut squash soup followed by smoked trout followed by Christmas Turkey with all the trimmings (yes, we had 2x 10kg turkeys!) followed by Christmas pudding and finally on to cheese and port to finish! And to top it all, 2 of our guests announced they had got engaged at the top of the Mosettes lift earlier in the day! Obviously, we had to pop a few corks of bubbly to celebrate.
We can’t wait for New Year’s now…
