Snow Due For The New Year

December 31st, 2016 News

There’s not been much fresh snow in Europe over the last 3 weeks – including in the Alps, and our very own Morzine-Avoriaz. Off-piste skiing options throughout the Portes du Soleil have been limited through December as a result.

But the snow machines and piste-bashers have been working hard to build on November’s impressive dump of snow, helping ensure that a number of slopes are open for the start of the ski season.

What’s the snow forecast?

All the New Year forecasts agree – and it’s good news! The Avoriaz resort is expecting heavy snow fall just around the corner. On the afternoon of Monday 2nd January to be precise (or as precise as you can be with mountain weather!)

The fresh powder will be a very welcome top-up as we head into the New Year and the new 2017 ski season.
