What makes for good hospitality? The answer lies in the new AliKats team…

In the process of creating the AliKats offering, we had to think long and hard about what makes our company special and why people would want to come on holiday with us. One thing we really pride ourselves on is our hospitality which was very much at the fore front of our minds when we were interviewing people to join the AliKats team for this winter…

So…

We are ruddy delighted to announce that we have offered jobs to our 4 favourite candidates to join the team as AliKats chalet hosts next year, and they have all accepted! Woo hoo! They all bring a great range of skills and backgrounds to the team and will be just fantastic at helping create the perfect chalet holiday for AliKats customers

It is very difficult to define what makes for good hospitality and why we think our team will be great at providing it. But we’ll give it a go anyway, so here are what we consider our top 5 points of what makes for good hospitality:

• Attention to detail.
• Knowing when to step in and when to step back
• Tailoring your service: Understanding what people want out of their holiday, rather than giving the same thing week in week out.
• The ‘need to please’; this doesn’t come naturally to everyone but having staff who genuinely get a kick out of serving others is a rare but precious attribute
• Prepare & Pre-empt: If you can prepare so that when guests have a request, you can respond easily and quickly to people’s requests, then you will have much happier guests. Better still if you can pre-empt what a guest might want and provide it before they have even asked for it then you can get pretty close to hospitality perfection!
