Where is the cheapest place to ski in France this winter? Turns out it is the Portes du Soleil! Yay!

October 5th, 2012 News

Following our recent post on value for money when skiing in France v Switzerland, there is more good news to be had for you Francophiles… A 6-day ski pass for the Portes du Soleil (in which Morzine Avoriaz is the beating heart) is the cheapest of all the big ski areas in France! Put that in your pipe and smoke it, 3 valleys!

Not only is PDS the cheapest, but it also has the most lifts, most km of piste and most parks as well! Here is how it compares to the other big areas…

Les Portes du Soleil (includes Avoriaz, Morzine, Les Gets, Chatel & several Swiss resorts)

€216 (Adult) / €162 (Child)

650km piste, 288 runs, 9 parks, 210 lifts

3 Valleys (includes Meribel, Courchevel & Val Thorens)

€240 (Adult) / €177 (Child)

600km piste, 293 runs, 2 parks, 185 lifts

Espace Killy (includes Val d’Isere & Tignes)

€230 (Adult) / €178 (Child)

300km piste, 137 runs, 2 parks, 97 lifts

Chamonix (All areas)

So all in all, we are feeling pretty smug writing this from our chalet in Morzine!
