Avoriaz Chalets

The highest resort in the Portes du Soleil with skiing over 2000 m, Avoriaz offers access to a vast variety of terrain, ranging from beginner-friendly to expert-level slopes, plus world-class snow parks and reachable off-piste for freeride fans. You won’t find a great number of chalets in Avoriaz itself (the resort mainly offers apartment style accommodation), but thanks to the resort’s fast and efficient ski lifts, our catered and self catered chalets in Morzine are a great choice, and staying in the charming village of Morzine comes with a unquie set of advantages. Hot-tubs, saunas, epic views, luxurious living spaces, gourmet food and fine wine: our chalet holidays are thoughtfully designed with all the luxury features you need for a fantastic time in one of Europe’s best winter playgrounds.

Avoriaz Chalets

AliKats offer a luxury chalet experience in the heart of the Portes du Soleil. First and foremost, we’ve chosen our chalets for their locations, and we believe they are in the best spots for discovering the Portes du Soleil region. You’ll have the advantage of choosing where you wish to ski each day – head up to the heights of Avoriaz and Switzerland beyond, or explore the opposite mountainside on the beautiful slopes of Morzine and Les Gets.

Our portfolio of chalets cater to a range of group sizes, from cosy chalets perfect for two to spacious chalets for up to 26 guests. We offer chalets in both central Morzine and the picturesque village of Montriond, which boasts fantastic access to the ski lifts. From Montriond, you’ll be whisked up to Avoriaz via a single lift, with easy connections to Châtel and the Swiss resorts.

Exceptional food

When it comes to fully catered chalet holidays, we believe the food should be just as memorable as the skiing. We’re fortunate to be in an exceptional location for fresh, local produce, and we source ingredients from a variety of nearby farms, fromageries and boucheries. Our menu embraces creativity, stepping beyond traditional chalet fare to explore diverse cultures, bold flavours, and unique combinations.

Our food has earned praise from critics and journalists, earning a spot in The Telegraph’s ‘top 5 ski holidays for food lovers’, along with several local awards. We cater to all dietary requirements, and a member of our team will reach out to you before your arrival to discuss your specific needs. Family Ski Holidays in Morzine Avoriaz

Morzine Avoriaz is a top choice for family ski holidays, and for good reason. The resort is incredibly family-friendly, offering skiing for all levels, well-regarded ski schools and instructors, fantastic childcare options, and a range of family activities and events off the slopes.

We can recommend the best nannies and childcare services, ski schools and instructors to help you plan the perfect family getaway.

When it comes to skiing with kids, we understand that the little details matter. That’s why all our chalets come equipped with heated boot racks for warm toes to start the day, hair-dryers in every room, UK plug adaptors, high chairs, travel cots, bed guards, and plenty of baby essentials available upon request.

Snow conditions in Avoriaz and the Portes du Soleil

While you might find higher-altitude resorts in the Alps, elevation alone doesn’t guarantee better snow conditions. Avoriaz boasts high, north-facing slopes that are ideal for preserving snow, as well as lower, sheltered runs through the forests – offering protection from winds and great skiing, even on bad weather days. Additionally, thanks to its location on the north-west edge of the Alps, Avoriaz and the slopes of the wider Portes du Soleil area bear the brunt of storms moving in from the north-west, the direction from which the northern French Alps receives most of its snow. So although it is not the highest resort in the Alps, skiers can enjoy great skiing conditions from December through to April. To discover more about the ski area check out our ski guide.
