Our Favourite Large Group Ski Chalets

February 10th, 2023 Holiday Tips

Like a good bottle of red or an embarrassing secret, a ski holiday is something best shared. Whether you’re a family looking for cruisey slopes and cosy hot chocolates, or friends seeking thrills, off-piste adventures and après, Morzine is the ultimate destination for group ski holidays.

Here at Alikats, we understand that where you base yourself is crucial to a magical holiday. All of our chalets can be booked exclusively by one group, and offer a whole range of key features that are perfect for ski trips with your squad. So we’ve chosen our top three favourite chalets for large groups to inspire you to send that group message and hit the slopes together!

Ferme á Jules – sleeps 26

Originally a beautiful farmhouse built in 1808, Ferme á Jules is the biggest Alikats chalet. With us from the beginning, there are so many reasons why it remains the perfect chalet for large groups, and a firm favourite amongst all who visit. Located in the quiet area of Montriond, Ferme á Jules enjoys the feel of a rural mountain retreat, whilst being only a 6 minute drive from the Ardent ski lift – from which you can access the ski runs of Switzerland and the entire Porte du Soleil.

With 10 bedrooms and a total capacity of 26 people, every feature of Fermes á Jules has been designed to bring people together. The airy communal living space is furnished with a roaring log fire, and vast, plush sofas that are perfect for sinking into after a day on the slopes. The dining area, surrounded by French doors and wide windows, provides ample space for a dinner-time feast with panoramic views of the mountains.

The chalet also boasts a games room and separate TV area, so the kids can burn those endless reserves of energy whilst you enjoy a soak in the stunning outdoor hot tub; or unwind in the sauna.

However, despite its size, Ferme á Jules never feels crowded. The large bedrooms are split across three floors, all with ensuite bathrooms and many with private balconies. Each room has been curated to combine luxury with comfort – their generous size, and breathtaking views of the valley from every window offer a space in which to find peace and privacy in those important moments of alone time.

Chalet Harmonie & Chalet Melodie –  sleeps 25

Located in the heart of Morzine, chalets Harmonie and Melodie are sleek, stylish, and the perfect place for groups wanting to soak up the life and soul of our beautiful little town.

Available on a self-catered basis, the two chalets are situated directly next to each other and can be booked either separately or as a pair. Harmonie sleeps 12 in 5 ensuite bedrooms, whilst Melodie sleeps 13 in 6 ensuite bedrooms – which, we reckon, adds up to a pretty good party!

Just a minute’s walk from the town and nearest supermarket; and a 5 minute walk to the nearest ski lift, they are the ultimate combo for people wanting to make the most of Morzine’s more lively side. They’re also a great option for groups who are looking for a car-free stay.

Designed and built together, Harmonie and Melodie share the same effortless luxury. Sleek, understated design is combined with bold, contemporary soft furnishings to create a space that calls for fizz, parties and spending time with friends. Large open-plan living and kitchen spaces mean the party doesn’t have to stop if you decide to cook, and if you find your energy reserves waning after a few days of kickers, off piste and backflips, you can submerge yourself in the outdoor hot tubs or catch a movie in one of two cinema rooms, complete with projector screen and reclining chairs!

Chalet Alpaga One & Two – sleeps 24

Our final favourites are Alpagas One and Two. Brand new to Alikats this winter season, these two ski chalets conjoin via a boot room, so can be booked separately, or as one large chalet. When booked together, they sleep up to 24 people in 8 ensuite bedrooms, so are a perfect choice for families and kids seeking alpine adventures!

Located in a quieter part of town than Harmonie and Melodie, Alpagas One and Two are still fantastically located for Pleney and Super Morzine ski lifts, but offer a more relaxed atmosphere, away from the immediate hustle of the town centre.

Their huge, sweeping balconies and floor to ceiling windows offer breathtaking views of the valley, which can be further enjoyed in the outdoor seating area, which offers a great space for après, or even a BBQ as the sun sets over Pleney. For the kids, cute bunk beds, a cinema room and a beautiful mezzanine play area/snug makes these chalets a truly magical place for exploring, plotting adventures and making secret dens.

So, if you’re thinking about a relaxing getaway with family, or a lively reunion with your ski squad, our range of larger chalets ticks all the boxes and everything in-between. From secret engagements to extravagant birthdays, they’re chalets that shine brightest when they’re alive with people who love the mountains, great food, and – most importantly – fantastic company.

We have ski chalets situated in the best locations in Morzine, if you’ve not found what you’re looking for please check out our complete portfolio of luxury chalets.
