Al – Co-Founder

After an interesting but ultimately unrewarding 10 years working in banking in London and Geneva, I made the move into full time mountain life and have never looked back. When I am not looking after our 3 energetic and hilarious children, I oversee the commercial and business change side of AliKats. Kat – Co-Founder

Following an unfulfilling career in media sales in London, I was looking for a new challenge when I met Al and I already had one eye on the mountains. Since 2010, we have been living here in Morzine and I now have a life creating interesting menus, recruiting and managing our wonderful team looking after our 3 gorgeous children. Al and I are also on the board of trustees for local environmental charity Montagne Verte

Sarah – Head of Sales

I’m stoked to have joined the AliKats team as Head of Sales. I’m grateful to be able to call Morzine home; enjoying the crisp mountain air each day – biking in summer and snowboarding each winter!

After hearing about Al & Kat’s work at both AliKats and via the local environmental charity – Montagne Verte, I knew I wanted to become part of this team and help make a difference. I’m excited to be able to join AliKats mission to create joyful mountain experiences for all whilst protecting the health of the planet. Fancy joining us in this incredible landscape?

Beca – Head of Operations

In 2017 I took a break from the corporate world and disappeared with my bike Brynmor to New Zealand. In 2018 Brynmor and I arrived in Morzine and it was then that the career break became a total lifestyle change… I have lived in the Alps (on and off) since (thanks to those infamous “B” and “C” words). It’s a privilege to live in a place that most people only get a glimpse of on holiday and to share it with our guests.  I’m committed to making sustainable choices and decreasing the impact that holidays have on our planet so it’s a joy to be part of the likeminded Alikats team making a real commitment to protecting our planet and investing in its future.

Hector – dog

Hector is the youngest member of the AliKats team but is very keen to learn. His enthusiasm and energy are contagious and he can often be found urging the team on with encouraging barks. While Hector has never skied or snowboarded before, he is hoping to find his feet on the snow this season. He is also very much looking forward to meeting our wonderful guests.

Nik – Resort Manager (Catered chalets)

After dedicating over 25 years to working in education, a life epiphany refocused my priorities and I changed tack. I’m blessed to now spend winters in the Alps as part of the AliKats Team alongside my husband, Rich. I’ve a passion for tasty seasonal sustainable food and working with people of all ages. My winter sports journey started on a snowboard, deviated to skis, then after a 20-year hiatus I got back on a board! We only get one shot at life on this beautiful planet and I’m endeavouring to make the most of it, I look forward to meeting you this season!

Rich – Operations Assistant

Hi, I’m Rich. Together with my wife, Nik, I’m back for my third winter season and my second one with AliKats. I love being in the mountains; partially as a former geologist, but also because I feel so free when I’m on my skis. And doing it in tune with AliKats’ ethos of reducing our impact on the environment as much as possible makes it even better. I can’t wait to meet you all and help you have an amazing time in this fabulous environment.

Rafael – Resort Manager (Self-catered chalets)

Brazilian-born and raised, with 28 km driven, 51% passionate about the ocean and 49% passionate about the mountains. Having worked in the Aviation and Hospitality industry for the past 10 years, after traveling the world and living in Dubai’s desert for the past 5 years, I have now settled down in these beautiful French Alps. Chasing the mountains, lakes, waterfalls, woods, fireplaces, and clear night skies. A huge fan of animals, nature, and people with high spirits, I’m looking forward to making meaningful connections along the way, ensuring everyone has an unforgettable memory in an unforgettable place.

Dan – Maintenance manager

Hi, I’m Daniel, born in the sunny midlands in England with my 2 other triplet brothers and training to be an electrical engineer. I’ve always had an unhealthy addiction to sports that can really hurt, I’ve played rugby since I was four, I have been skiing my entire life and have recently qualified to be a scuba diver. I am Really looking forward to trading in the 9 to 5 grind for living and shredding up the French alps all winter long!

Rocio – Housekeeping supervisor

My name is Rocio Crespo, I am 27 years old and I was born in Argentina. After finishing my studies in graphic design and advertising, I moved to Europe in search of new opportunities and it was impossible not to fall in love with this amazing place. I’m so excited to be part of the AliKats staff again! I love the mountain air and being in contact with new people who come to enjoy the beautiful views and fresh snow!

Owen – Chalet Sarcleret host

Dia Duit, Owen is ainm dom! And that’s about all the Irish I know folks! A qualified engineer but currently a full time world traveller! I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the pyramids of Egypt, active volcanoes, the Great Wall of China and much more but it’s time to trade the backpack for skis as I return to the Alps with AliKats for my 2nd year! I am thrilled to be back hosting and meeting the many new faces who stay with myself and my fiancé.

Kayleigh – Chalet Sarcleret chef

Hi there, I’m Kayleigh! A qualified scientist, adventure seeker and an absolute animal lover! I am currently taking a break from my science career to fulfill my dream of traveling the world. When I am not hunting down wonders of the world, I am either on the slopes or in the kitchen trying out new, fun recipes! I am so excited to be returning to Alikats for my 2nd year & look forward to meeting so many new faces who stay with us & feed you some delicious food as your chalet chef!

Murray – Ferme a Jules host

Having graduated in Sport Studies & Marketing from the University of Stirling, I landed a Content Curation role within a Sports Performance Analysis company before realising the office was not for me. From dipping in an out of the hospitality and events industry from the age of 18, I decided to dive into a new career, SCUBA. I made the move over to Malta, completed my Divemaster programme before becoming an instructor for four years. My most recent adventures have seen me travelling Australia exploring diving spots as well as working in the Film Industry. I am very excited to leave the sun behind and be based in the snowy Alps where I can make connections with clients and shred the powder!

Margot – Ferme a Jules host

Originally from France, I graduated in Biology in Angers, a city I adore. Afterward, I pursued my passion for scuba diving, becoming a dive instructor in Malta, where I taught for two years. My partner and I then traveled around Australia, working in the film industry. I am also passionate about the mountains and enjoy skiing, hiking, and canyoning in the Alps and the Pyrénées during both Winter and Summer.

Paul – Ferme a Jules chef

Hello. I’m Paul and I love skiing and beautiful mountains. I was initially hesitant when I first tried skiing- reluctant to swap the sun for snow- but the experience reshaped my perspective on life. I enjoyed the constant challenge and needed more. Back home I took up martial arts and am now an instructor. I changed my focus from being a printer to being what I always wanted; an illustrator. Now, with our four kids grown, my wife and I have decided our next challenge is to become fabulous chalet hosts. I’m really excited by the opportunity to meet guests and play a part in their holiday experience.

Lowis – Ferme a Jules host

As we say in Yorkshire, ‘Ey up’ (Hiya!). I’m Lowis and I’m really excited to be joining the AliKats’ team, along with my husband. I love meeting new people and adventures, so being part of AliKats combines both of these. I’m looking forward to helping make every guest’s experience magical during their stay with us in the beautiful town of Morzine. As well as experiencing a ski holiday that is sustainable and working towards helping save the planet. As an outdoor swimmer I love being in nature in all weathers and so AliKats commitment to the environment is really important to me too.

Tom – Driver

I’m a civil engineer from rural Lincolnshire, England. At home I play lots of different sports, but I mostly play rugby as a flanker for my local team. I’ve just finished a summer of working and travelling around America. I can’t wait to meet lots of new people and trade a winter of pouring concrete and digging holes in the rain for living and working in the mountains and the opportunity to ski in my free time.

Matthew – Driver

After working for more years than I care to mention in engineering, the time has come to bid farewell to my team and put my laptop away. I’ve had a lifelong love of the outdoors, snow and the mountains, so what could be a better way to ease myself out of the office routine than spending a season in the magnificent surroundings of the Portes du Soleil? As someone who shares AliKats’ environmental vision and knows what great customer service is, I’m here to help AliKats’ guests get the best from their stay and have a truly memorable holiday . . . and brush up on my skiing technique!

Tyler – Driver

I’m a dedicated driver from South Africa, thrilled to be part of the AliKats team. With a background in customer service and a love for adventure, I enjoy bringing a personal touch to each journey. I’m passionate about movies and music, and I bring that same energy and enthusiasm to my work. Whether navigating the mountain roads or sharing local tips, my aim is to ensure our guests have a safe and enjoyable experience, making their stay as memorable as possible.

Caitlin – Flexi Host

Hi! I’m Caitlin Quinlan from South Africa, your Flexi Host for the season. You’ll see me popping in and out of your AliKats experience, and I can’t wait to help make it a memorable one. I love cooking, live music, hiking, and eating delicious food. When I’m not out exploring, you’ll find me practicing yoga and chatting about all things self-care and sustainability. Looking forward to an amazing season with you. See you on the slopes!

Blanca – Flexi Host

My name is Blanca Wruck. I’m originally from Mexico but with German descent. This will be my first seasonal work experience in Europe, far from my hometown. I have experience in customer service, cleaning, and hospitality. I learn quickly and I’m very dedicated to what I do. I’m very excited to try something new and different. I love nature, meeting new people, exercising, electronic music, and, above all, learning new sports and ways of seeing life. I’m kind, friendly, and love human warmth.

Soren – Chalet Riviere host

Hi, I’m Sören, born and raised in the beautiful landscapes of Namibia. Growing up surrounded by the vast deserts, rugged mountains, and diverse wildlife sparked my deep passion for exploring the world beyond. Adventure has always been at the heart of who I am, and I make it a priority to spend every bit of my free time discovering new places, whether it’s hiking through remote trails, immersing myself in different cultures, or simply meeting new people. I’m excited about the adventures that await and the memories yet to be made. I’m ready to embrace the unknown and make the most of every moment. Here’s to a season full of discovery, excitement, and endless possibilities!

Kendra – Chalet Riviere chef

This year, I’ve taken a leap from my UX & UI design career to embrace a journey of travel and exploration. Growing up in South Africa, the mountains and forests were my playground; this deep-rooted connection with Nature has always kept me grounded. My Honours degree focused on sustainable development which was influenced by my passion for blending natural systems with design solutions. AliKats, an eco-centric company, also prioritises unique and memorable guest experiences. With my creative outlook and South African warmth, we look forward to providing excellent service, atmosphere, and a side portion of humour. See you in the mountains!

Dan – Chalet Soleil d’Or chef

Hello! I have a history of exploring and immersing myself in different landscapes and cultures. Whether it is from growing tonnes of tomatoes in Alto Oltrepò Pavese, catering in the West Highlands of Scotland, or making pizzas with communities and families across Western Europe. I have professional grounding in climate resilience, having spent my life working in environmental science, research and sustainability. I am known for my humour, conversation, responsibility, attentiveness and care when undertaking tasks. I’m excited to exchange stories and experiences, learn how to snowboard and help others make the most of their time in Morzine, Portes du Soleil and the surrounding peaks.

James – Chalet Bizet chef

After 20 years in the hospitality industry, with 10 of those spent running my own event bar and pub companies (mostly pushing a sack barrow through crowds) it’s time for a change. I’ve always had a passion for great food and wine in great locations, this coupled with AliKats ethos for sustainability I am absolutely ecstatic to be joining the team for the winter along with my wife.

Grace – Chalet Bizet host

Hey, I have worked in hospitality for over ten years as an Events and Wellness Manager. I love the dynamic, people-focused nature of Hospitality world, however the weight of corporate UK life and how wasteful the industry can be has grown heavy. I passionately want to work with like-minded, values and purpose led people. My husband and I have also always shared a dream of doing a season in the mountains together, so when we found AliKats we were VERY excited and now cannot wait to make that dream a reality in Chalet Bizet this winter! I also love Yoga and am a qualified teacher, if you see someone trying down dog in her skis it’s probably me (intentionally or potentially mid epic fall!)

Tom – Chalet Debussy chef

I’ve been a head chef in a beautiful pub hotel on the South Downs for a few years and can’t wait to trade the countryside for the mountains. I’ve skied my whole life and have always dreamt of working in a chalet. My wonderful girlfriend Sinead and I are dedicated to providing excellent hospitality and hope to give guests a memorable trip. I’m thrilled to be a part of a AliKats where I can let my enthusiasm and passion shine through alongside an amazing team. If I’m not cooking up a storm or carving up the mountain you’ll probably find me watching the football with a cold beer.

Sinead – Chalet Debussy host

The past 5 years I’ve been honing my craft in all sectors of hospitality and have always pushed to learn new skills. Having never been skiing before what better way to learn than jumping in the deep end and doing a season! I enjoy everything arts and crafts meaning I have a great eye for detail which reflects in my work. I’m passionate about interacting with guests and providing the best experience possible, so I can’t wait to be a part of the AliKats team who share the same values. You’re most likely to see me with a book in hand or helping my boyfriend Tom in the kitchen to keep you well fed.

Lorea – Flexi Host

I’m thrilled to be joining the AliKats team as a Flexi Host for the Winter 2024/2025 season. My background is in customer service and hospitality, where I’ve done everything from managing fitness studios to working with kids at summer camps. I love making sure people have the best experience possible, and I can’t wait to bring that energy to AliKats. I’m really excited to dive into mountain life here in Morzine and be part of an amazing team, helping our guests have an unforgettable stay!

Mickey – Flexi Host

I’m an adventurous kiwi from New Zealand. I am passionate about the outdoors and love snowboarding. I have been working in the ski industry for 9 winter seasons so far! I’ve worked in various roles on and off the ski field from house-keeping to grooming the slopes. I’m excited to see what the French Alps have to offer!

Kyle – Flexi Chef

I am returning for another winter season with AliKats. I come from a Chef’ing background with over 14 years experience working within the hospitality industries and a yearning for the great outdoors. I look forward to seeing you all on the slopes!

Aidan – Driver

Kia Ora, I’m from New Zealand. Normally you can find me producing and selling wine around the world. However when the snow comes, there’s no place I’d rather be than flowing down a mountain on one board and building snow people. I enjoy long hikes on mountain trails, visiting art galleries and spending too much money at patisseries. I unwind by discovering music, playing basketball or learning new board games. I look forward to helping cultivate an enjoyable, adventurous and memorable experience with you for this winter season. See you soon.
