Noël Guide 2022: Morzine has Christmas all wrapped up for families

All the information you need for a fairytale Christmas in Morzine

The snow is already here and Santa is on his way, along with an amazing line up of entertainment, music and interactive activities for big and little kids alike!

Once off slopes, find out where to sip vin chaud, ice skate, make Christmas crafts, see a light show and meet the big man himself. Here’s everything you need to know to celebrate a very cool yule in Morzine.

Morzine Village Enchanté

Morzine’s ‘Village Enchanté’ is a special programme of festivities and family fun in the centre of Morzine running daily from 17th December to the 1st January. See street entertainers, musicians, live shows, Christmas market stalls and an array of fun and whacky children’s activities. Here are a few of our favourites, which you will find down at the Place de l’Office de Tourisme (Morzine’s central square by the Tourist Office):

Meet Father Christmas

Little ones have a chance to meet Santa on specific day by the Tourist Office

19th, 20th, 21st & 23rd December; 5-6pm

 

Ice Treasure Hunt

Children from 6 to 12 years can grab an ice pick and attack a huge block of ice to try and find a gold coin. 20th December 2022; 3.30 pm – 6.30 pm.

 

‘Become an Elf’ Virtual Reality

Kids from 3 years old can climb aboard Santa’s sleigh and distribute gifts to all the children in town (virtual reality activity). 20th & 28th December 2022; 4 pm – 6 pm.

 

Build a Christmas Cabin

This Macabane workshop invites children to build a 2m high Christmas cabin from wood and decorate it however they like. Instructions provided and event organisers are on-hand to help kids of all ages. Wednesday 21st & 29th December 2022; 10.30 am – 6.30 pm.

 

Festive Face Painting:

Children over 3 years can transform into creatures of their choice.  21st & 28th December; 15:30 – 18:30

 

Frosted warriors obstacle course:

Kids and adults can test their ninja warrior skills on their own or in a team on this crazy obstacle course. 23rd & 30th December 2022; 4 – 7pm.

Christmas Eve: Father Christmas Arrives & Torchlight Descent

Head down to the front de neige (Pleney snow front) to see the torchlight descent down the slopes into town and welcome Santa Claus, followed by a festive firework display. Free vin chaud and hot chocolate. Then down at the Tourist Office square more entertainment and music will continue into the evening. 24th December; from 5:30pm

Workshops & Crafts

Located at the Palais de Sport (hockey stadium)

 

Chocolate Making

Join this free class and take home some yummy chocolate creations. December 22nd; 5 -6.15 pm.

 

Christmas Decorations (ages 6 – 12 years)

Make some fabulous Christmas snowmen, glittery stars and other delights. 23rd December 2022; 2:30-4pm

 

Ginger Bread House (ages 6 – 12 years)

Build a cute (and edible) ginger bread house. 23rd December 2022; 4:30-6pm

Please register here under the specific activity for these workshops. Registration opens on Saturday 17th for the week of December 17th to 24th; and from Saturday 24th for the week of December 24th to 31st.

Ice Skating

It’s always fun to don some skates and have a festive skate on the ice rink in Morzine’s pretty town centre. Supports in the shape of animals are available to help little ones find their way over the ice. Open over Christmas and throughout the winter, find exact times at the Tourist Office.

Alta Lumina: Light Trail

Alta Lumina is an enchanted light trail, which takes visitors through the forest to discover the story of a travelling music-maker and his hot air balloon, and follow his incredible journey beyond the mountains. Although this activity is available year-round, it is particularly magical at Christmas time. Includes light displays, music, imagery, set design and interactivity. Christmas with AliKats

If you’re joining us in one of our chalets for Christmas 2022, get ready for a truly magical holiday. The valley is covered is a gorgeous blanket of white snow and the ski resort is open and waiting for you.
