Looking back on a great first week in the AliKats chalet

April 5th, 2013 News

As we come to the end of our 1st week in the AliKats chalet, we thought we’d quickly take stock of what’s happened before the Christmas ski season starts in earnest! Our top 3 highlights have been…

– Getting to know our fantastic team of chalet hosts! Ben, Amelia, Simon & Colleen joined us at the beginning of December and have taken to the role of chalet hosts like ducks to water. They are great fun, enthusiastic, dilligent and we can relax in the knowledge that they will help us take great care of our guests this season.

– Skiing in Avoriaz on the opening weekend! After a week’s heavy snow, the gods looked kindly and withdrew the heavy cloud to make way for us on the opening 2 days of the season. The pistes were in great condition, the chips and beer tasted as good as ever and the mountain air was beautifully fresh.

– Watching the reaction on guests’ faces. From the moment the guests walked in, to showing them their rooms, to serving them the starter, to opening the lid of the hot-tub; all of our guest’s reactions have consistently been of the ‘WOW’ variety! We knew the chalet was special and we’ve worked really hard to make it a special place to be, but until you see someone else’s reaction you are never sure how good it is. The smug look on their faces as they relaxed with a glass of our house wine in front of the fire has made all the hard work worthwhile. [Thanks for the Trip Advisor reviews as well guys!]

The heavy snow that continues to fall has triggered a rush of bookings to stay in the chalet and we’re now just honing the art of getting 20+ hot main courses on people’s plates at the same time!
