Our Wine & Beer Collection
When it comes to soil, climate, grape varieties and, of course, flavours, French wine is world renowned for its quality, and we are lucky enough to have all this on our doorstep. Each year we source a variety of exceptional wines from the classic French appellations and beyond.
We work with a wine consultant and update our collection every winter season to ensure we offer high quality wine at great value for money. Having said that, there are some things you can be certain of year-on-year. We will always stock classics of the Rhone Valley, like a Vacqueyras to pair with a hearty stew, roasted lamb or steak dish. You can count on exceptional whites, such as a Sancerre, and a decent selection of bubbles. For rosé drinkers, we make sure we have a highly drinkable wine for those spontaneous, lazy afternoon aperitif sessions.
Not all of our wine come from France, your will also find iconic Italian wines, such as a deep ruby red Montepulcianno D’abbruzo, our beautifully yellow cristalline (and truly classy) Prosecco and a wonderful lightly sparking Asti to pair with dessert and end the evening on a high note.
Champagnes & sparkling wines
From champagnes including Bollinger’s latest vintage and Laurent-Perrier’s Chardonnay rich variety to lesser known delights of the local Savoie region, we always stock a wide variety of fizz. Whether you’re planning a celebratory evening or are simply keen to ensure you have a dependable aperitif at the ready, you’re sure to find the style and personality that suits your mood or occasion in our online shop
Pricing and purchasing
Our wines are competitively priced by the bottle.
We offer a Sale or Return Scheme on all of our wines. If there are any unopened bottles left at the end of your stay, we’ll provide a complete refund for the price you paid for these wines. So it’s worth buying that extra bottle just in case!
All of our wines, along with detailed descriptions and occasional pairing suggestions, are featured in our shop here. Choose your wine and we will deliver it directly to your chalet. This service is only available to guests staying in AliKats’ chalets.
We love to support local companies, especially when they are really good at what they do!
Ibex beer is brewed here in Morzine with water sourced from the valley at the Ibex Microbrewery – you may have spotted their signage on the main road into Morzine, just after the Montriond round-about before turning up the hill. Brewing is a hands-on affair and not automated. Each brew is cared for from start to finish by Ibex’s knowledgeable beer-loving team of local staff.
Some classics are becoming well known across the Alps. Try the accessible Cabin Fever, an amber IPA with mellow bitterness, or the Neon Pale Ale for a seriously hoppy punch. Many of Ibex’s core beers are low alcohol, which we think makes them even more perfect for relaxed sessions with friends in the chalet.
Order your Ibex beer in our shop here, and we’ll make sure it is in the fridge when you arrive.
