Located in the sought-after ski village of Montriond, Ferme á Jules offers charm, inviting communal spaces and speedy access to the ski runs of Switzerland and the entire Porte du Soleil. With 10 bedrooms and a total capacity of 26 people, Fermes á Jules has been designed to bring people together. The airy communal living space is furnished with a roaring log fire, and giant, plush sofas; whilst the dining area, surrounded by French doors and vast windows, provides ample space for a dinner-time feast with panoramic views. The 10 large bedrooms are split across three floors, all with ensuite bathrooms and many with private balconies. Two brand new chalets, which conjoin via an internal door, sleep up to 24 people in 8 ensuite bedrooms. Although located in a quiet, sunny part of town, Alpagas One and Two are still fantastically located for Pleney and Super Morzine ski lifts, but offer a relaxed atmosphere, away from the immediate hustle of the town centre. Huge, sweeping balconies and floor to ceiling windows offer breathtaking views of the valley, which can be further enjoyed in the outdoor seating area, which offers a great space for après, or even a BBQ as the sun sets over Pleney. Unbeatable skiing and snowboarding for mixed ability groups
Morzine is situated in the heart of the expansive Portes du Soleil ski area, one of the largest interconnected ski areas in the world, ranking second biggest behind The 3 Vallees. The Portes du Soleil ski pass provides access to around 308 slopes including 33 black, 105 red, 131 blue and 39 green, along with 30 snowparks, boardercross and ski-cross areas. A huge range of Morzine ski schools offer first class tuition for skiers as young as 3 years, right up to advanced skiers looking for a ski touring guide to discover the PDS’ best off-piste havens.
Snow conditions
With its highest reachable point on skis soaring at 2254 metres, The Portes du Soleil is situated in a stunning part of the French Alps, between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc. As well as delivering phenomenal views, this position gives the ski area a unique microclimate, which means the domain benefits from better snow coverage than some of the higher resorts in the Alps. From mid-November to the end of April the resort receives on average around 8m of snow per year. To supplement snowfall, the ski area is equipped with state of the art snow making facilities.
Exciting non-ski activities
The resort has a fantastic range of non-ski activities, from the gravity fuelled thrills of AvoKarting, night sledding or snowmobiling, to the more gentle family activities of husky sledding, swimming and snowshoeing, there’s plenty to do when skiing is done for the day.
