How to make healthy trail mix
This healthy trail mix is a lifesaver when we’re busy and keen to get outside and make the most of the summer. It’s easy to make a big batch and store in the cupboard for outdoor adventures, with or without the kids. High in protein and natural sugars, it packs a nutritious punch right when you need it.
Having it to-hand in the cupboard means you can cross sugar loaded cereal bars and store-bought trail mixes off your shopping list!
Ingredients
¾ cup pecans (toasted in the oven for 10 mins at 180C)
¾ cup almonds (toasted in the oven for 10 mins at 180C)
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
½ cup raw pumpkin seeds
½ cup unsweetened, unsulfered cranberries
½ cup unsweetened, unsulfured raisins
½ cup chopped 85% dark chocolate
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
½ teaspoon ground ginger
Method
1)Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl & mix well.
2)Store in a large glass jar for up to a month
